Smartphone App numbers

It's been a great year so far with all the smartphone companies competing each other. One of the most important factor in a smartphone is the apps and the numbers show who's winning the smartphone battle. Apple currently has 650,000 apps in their App store with 30 billion downloads, Google play has 600,000 apps with 20 billion downloads, and RIM has 90,000 apps in their App World with 3 billion downloads.

I was a little surprised with RIM's number because they have been doing pretty bad recently. To be honest, I was skeptical when they announced the Blackberry 10 OS because Blackberry has their own unique style in PDA market and them trying to get into smartphone business now seem like nothing more than a fear of falling behind. In fact, I saw some reviews on the Blackberry 10 and they have nothing better to offer than most other smart phones in the market already.
